AVID Ratings™ has announced the winners of 2010 AVID Awards™ for best customer experience in the U.S. home building industry. The winners include: Sitterle Homes – San Antonio, Desert View Homes, and American Village Builders.

Now in their seventh year, the AVID Awards are the leading industry-sponsored awards honoring the best builders in the United States for delighting homeowners.

The awards are headlined by the AVID Diamond Award, which recognizes the No. 1 builder in the United States. Additional AVID Awards recognize the top builder in the following categories:

No. 1 builder with more than 300 closings
No. 1 builder with 50 to 299 closings
No. 1 builder with fewer than 49 closings

Surveys were issued to 8,740 homebuyers throughout the United States to determine the top performing companies.

Sitterle Homes – San Antonio
Sitterle Homes – San Antonio has won the 2010 AVID Diamond Award – Best Customer Experience in the United States, with 100 percent of its homeowners responding that they would recommend their builder to others. Since 1964, Sitterle Homes has built more than 4,000 homes in the Greater San Antonio area. Among Sitterle’s numerous awards, the Greater San Antonio Builders Association awarded the company 2010 Best Product Design, Garden Home: $250,000 and Over. 2010 also honored Sitterle with Best Interior Design/Merchandising – Volume $375,001- $500,000, as well as the Sales Counselor of the Year (Mid-Sized Builder 51-150 homes per year).

Desert View Homes
Desert View Homes, with headquarters in El Paso, Texas, has received the 2010 AVID Award – Best Customer Experience 300+ Closings in the United States, with 97.2 percent of its homeowners responding that they would recommend Desert View to family and friends. In 1991, Desert View Homes began constructing single-family homes in El Paso, Texas, with a focus on providing affordable housing for the local community along with superior customer service. The El Paso builder takes great pride on servicing entry-level and move-up home buyers, and with its emphasis on quality homes at affordable prices, Desert View has grown to include divisions in New Mexico and Colorado. In 2004, housing in Colorado Springs, Colo., began being offered under the name Aspen View Homes.

American Village Builders
American Village Builders of Portage, Mich., has been honored with the 2010 AVID Award – Best Customer Experience Fewer Than 49 Closings in the United States, with 100 percent of its homeowners indicating that they would recommend their builder to others. Founded in 1981, American Village Builders offers homes in Southwest Michigan and prides themselves on its tradition of quality building and fine craftsmanship.
